Douglas C. Gill was born in 1963 and grew up in Bethesda, Maryland the youngest of five. He first encountered Teens' Camping Tour of the West in 1980 when he participated in the program as a teen. Doug carried with him many of the significant lessons from that adventure into his high school, college and adult life. Among them the deep desire to pursue a life uncommon.  In 1991 Doug returned to TCTW for his first summer as staff, and was so captivated by its mission that he continued to staff until 1998 when he was installed as Director of the Program. Since then Doug has been leading adventures West keeping alive one man's dream to help transform the world exponentially by raising up the best of the best to take seriously their responsibilities to use their unique gifts to make this world a better place.
